Check It Out! Personally Approved by Me! 12/31/2010
Forgive my absence. If you don't read either one of my other sites (Cynical Musings or Walk Into the Bible Study), you haven't heard that my husband had an accident. He is fine now and on convalescent leave. I drove up to Virginia when I heard about the accident, as when the EMT's called, he couldn't remember anything! It was only a concussion plus a bunch of cuts, scrapes, and a black eye. Anyway, I am back in South Carolina (he's Navy and temp. duty in VA), and am trying to get caught up on everything! Give me two days, at the absolute tops, and I'll be back. In the meantime, if you run a coupon or freebie website, or know about a great coupon source or freebie going on right now, let me know! I'd love to feature your site! Cash back for shopping & more! 07/23/2010
If you haven't already, please check out the new page on the site "misc. income". I've added a couple of sites that really don't "fit in" with anything else I've done. Most of these sites pay cash back for shopping. I order a ton of things via the internet, and one of my rules is to never buy anything without getting cash back twice (once via a site such as MyPoints or Quickrewards and once via my credit card). MyPoints is a wonderful site in that regard. MyPoints is an easy program and I have been paid by them. I don't know the exact minimum to cash out, but it isn't high. Plus, they offer a ton of gift cards (along with other thing) as rewards. When I ordered mine, I got it in three days flat. Very fast turn-around. How to earn: 1) Cash back. They have hundreds of merchants (including E-bay!!!) and the "cash-back" rates are excellent. One of my rules of shopping online is to never buy anything without getting cash back (either on MyPoints or Quickrewards). 2) Daily clicks via e-mails. I do these because they really do have some interesting offers come in. Plus, I find out about deals and specials that I wouldn't have noticed otherwise. These points really add up. 3) Supposedly you can earn via other things- such as free samples, surveys, games, etc. I haven't had time to explore these features, but should I find time, I'll let you know if they work like they're supposed to! Note: Please, please, send me your e-mail if you want to join. My e-mail is: jenniferlandsberger@yahoo.com -or- get in touch with via my "contact me" page -or- leave a comment on this post. I get points for you joining, but only if I send the invite. Note #2: IF YOU RUN A COUPON OR FREEBIE SITE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I WOULD LOVE TO FEATURE YOU! As you can see, there is A LOT of information on this site. I do want to have a coupons, rebates, freebies section, but I am unable to keep up with all of the deals going on. So, if you have a site that relates to any of these, please let me know. I will put a link to your site and a description on my coupon page. I will also be following your sites, and if you have a good deal or a great post, I'll do a special post with your link on it. So, anyone want some free advertising? Please leave a comment or feel free to contact me via the contact page! Scam Alert- PeopleString 07/18/2010
The concept behind PeopleString is that they were (are) going to run their site like Facebook and share the revenues with their users. There are also supposed to be postal and e-mail offers sent to you. In addition, you can get "cash back" for shopping on various sites linked with theirs. Supposedly, you're going to make the most money from referring other people- there are six levels for referrals. It sounds like it might work. But don't bother. In my opinion, PeopleString is a scam. Reasons I call this a scam- In the seven months I've been visiting PeopleString, I've received exactly .00 in revenue. I did make another .10 at some point in the last seven months. I did this by playing on their "spin and win" games. They no longer offer this feature. They offer "scratch" lottery cards now. You receive $1.50 for giving them your mailing address. They send a postcard, you type in the code on the postcard, and your account in credited. It took months to receive the postcard. I've read on the forums of other people never receiving the card. When I inputted the code, I did indeed get my account credited $1.50. Unfortunately, I haven't received a single postal offer. Despite having signed up for the e-mails, I have not received a single e-mail offer in over six months. You need $25 to cash out. At the rate of offers I'm receiving, I'll be able to cash out in 2020. There are many other sites out there that give your cash-back, among them Quickrewards and Mypoints. There is no need to waste your time on a site like Peoplestring. It might be possible to make money with a ton of referrals, but I refuse to refer people to a site that does not allow you to independently make money without a ton of effort. As always, my opinion of a site is indeed just that- my opinion. However, I give each site a fair try. I have a bit stricter qualifications of what is a good site than others. I'm not going to waste an hour a day on a site that earns me 10 cents. If you have had success with PeopleString, congratulations. I stand by my opinion that compared to other sites, PeopleString is a scam. It requires too much time, energy, and even money, on the part of the user to be worth the lousy few dollars made in return. Note: In response to a comment: Thank you for sharing your opinion, I do honestly seek the opinion of people who have had an experience different than the one I portray. However, please actually READ my post. 1) "Eventually qualify" isn't really accurate when it's stated in the first paragraph and before any reasons. That's called "up front." 2) The "Peoplepoints" issue was simplified in the first reason given for my calling it a scam. I didn't feel like complicating it by explaining to everyone that you don't actually get revenue- you get "peoplepoints", which MIGHT be enough to qualify for a few cents. As I stated, I have received .00. 3) I did mention cash back. AS I said, there are better sites out there with no minimum for cashing out. The person commenting did mention there are free offers that you can do on Peoplestring to earn. You can do those same offers for higher pay via a freebie trading or via another site like Peoplestring, but with less effort. Trust me, if you want to sign up for Starbucks coffee, a credit report, or a book club, I can offer more than PeopleString is. The reader also commented "Now if you don't bother to use Peoplestring's facilities that is up to you, folk like me get a bigger profitshare every month." You're welcome to it. Enjoy that extra .10 cents I earned in the last six months. I discovered Associated Content via a forum on Suite 101. I love it! You pick your own content. You can then submit your material for an upfront payment AND still get performance payment. I have submitted three articles thus far (2 in history and 1 in health) and have been given an upfront payment for them all. Best of all, as soon as you accept the offer, they send payment right away. No waiting to make a $25 minimum before they send payment. And on performance pay, there is only a minimum of $1.50 to receive your money. Performance pay is only sent monthly, however. Note to everyone: I am NOT getting paid if you sign up for Associated Content. They do NOT pay for referrals. Note #2: They do check every article for proper grammar, spelling, etc. I have not had one kicked back yet (but I've written lots of articles), but it is mentioned in the forums. I will be doing an article within a few days on tips for writing great articles. Overview of Site Content 07/13/2010
I know there are a bunch of new readers and that there is A LOT of information on this site. Even if you've been a reader awhile, feel free to explore some of the other sections of the site you might not have been to before! The main areas covered: Freebie trading- basically, I (or another trader) pays you money to sign up for a site and try an offer or offers. These range from free offers to trial offers to purchasing a product. An overview of freebie trading is on the "Freebie Trading" page. For a list of sites I am paying for, see "Earn Cash Today!" under "Freebie Trading." This is a great chance to get paid to try out Netflix, Blockbuster, buy an ASOTV product, or get a credit card! Survey Sites- this section covers survey sites that I HAVE BEEN PAID for and ratings for each site. For those interested, I usually make between $50 and $100 a month doing survey. Not a lot, but it certainly helps buy groceries! Mystery Shopping- the main "Mystery Shopping" page covers companies I have worked for and been paid by. There is a sub-page "Mystery Shopping Tips/Rules" for those interested in what mystery shopping is and how to do it. Writing Income- there are three pages in this section. The main "Writing Income" page has a site that pays me to write along with a site that pays me to blog. There is also a "Writing Tips for Blogs" and "Blog Promotion" sub-pages. For those interested in freelance writing, I will be posting two more sites that pay me to write in the next month. (I am waiting for payment from one site and the results of a Health article on the other). Coupons- I save at least $100 a month using coupons. The coupon page right now has a "basics of couponing" section. I will be adding sites where I get coupons and other tips over the coming months. Budget Basics- This is a section for those looking to get their basic household finances in order. The reason for this section is that it doesn't matter how much you save with coupons or make from other sources if your household finances are a mess- debt, bad planning, lack of a budget, etc. will wipe out any additional income or savings. I was paid by Valued Opinions. They would have rated an "A" grade (their surveys pay great, usually about $1.00 per 10 minutes) except for two things: 1) You have to keep track of your "pending earnings". It can take up to 4 weeks for it to actually show up on your balance. Plus, I had a couple of pending earnings disappear. But as soon as I contacted them, I was credited. 2) You have to have $20 to cash out plus the reward options aren't the best. Right now, you CANNOT get cash. You have to choose a gift certificate from Amazon, Blockbuster, Macys, Marriott, Frangrencenet, or Magazines.com. Link to join: ValuedOpinions.com -and- I've changed the grades for MySurvey.com and Lightspeed Panel from "A's" to "B's". They lowered how much their points are worth by a little bit and surveys are getting longer and longer while points rewarded are either staying the same or getting smaller. I very rarely get a survey anymore that meets my minimum requirements, which is $1.00 for every 10 minutes (or 15 minutes, if I'm feeling generous). I've actually gotten some that only pay $1.28 for 30-35 minutes. Of course, I don't do those surveys. WooHoo! Another Adgitize payment! 07/08/2010
Yet once again, I paid Adgitize $14 for advertising my blog for the month. And due to my clicks and regular postings, I earned $15.16 this month. So, I paid for my advertising and made $1.16 in profit. Plus, got extra drops in with Entrecard because a bunch of sites use both Adgitize and Entrecard (as I do!). If you haven't tried it before, please try it now. Advertise for one month. Post everyday. Do your 51 clicks per day. You'll make back your advertising money, promote your blog in new places, and might make some extra money! We Need a Laugh 07/03/2010
